Add a signed card from Lance Parrish's brief Philadelphia Phillies tenure with this 1988 Score #131, personally autographed by the eight-time Major League All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner, six-time Silver Slugger winner and 1984 World Series champion.

The 1988 Score #131 comes from the inaugural year of Score baseball cards, making it a nice addition to a comprehensive Parrish autograph collection. The 1988 release introduced collectors to Score's colorful bordered design, extensive statistics and action-oriented photography, creating another major nationally distributed baseball card brand alongside Topps, Donruss and Fleer.

This card depicts Parrish during his second season with the Philadelphia Phillies. After spending the first decade of his Major League career with Detroit, Parrish joined Philadelphia for 1987 and immediately became the club's primary catcher. He appeared in 130 games during his first Phillies season, batting .245 with 114 hits, 21 doubles, 17 home runs and 67 RBI.

Parrish returned as Philadelphia's starting catcher in 1988, appearing in 123 games and making 114 starts behind the plate. He finished the season with 91 hits, 17 doubles, 15 home runs and 60 RBI, while catching nearly 1,000 innings for the Phillies.

More importantly, Parrish was selected to the 1988 National League All-Star team. He and pitcher Kevin Gross represented Philadelphia in the Midsummer Classic. It was Parrish's eighth career All-Star selection and his first as a National Leaguer after previously earning seven selections while playing in the American League.

That distinction makes Parrish one of the players of his era to earn All-Star recognition in both leagues. The 1988 selection was also his final All-Star appearance, adding extra significance to cards depicting him during his last season in Philadelphia.

Following the 1988 season, Parrish joined the California Angels, ending his two-year Phillies tenure. He ultimately played 19 Major League seasons, finishing with 1,782 hits, 324 home runs and 1,070 RBI. His impressive rsum includes eight All-Star selections, three Gold Gloves, six Silver Slugger Awards and the 1984 World Series championship with Detroit.
