Add an interesting Philadelphia Phillies carryover issue to a Lance Parrish autograph collection with this 1989 Score #95, personally autographed by the eight-time Major League All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner, six-time Silver Slugger winner and 1984 World Series champion.

The 1989 Score #95 features Parrish with the Philadelphia Phillies, representing the final season of his two-year stay in Philadelphia. Parrish played for the Phillies in 1987 and 1988 before moving to the California Angels for the 1989 season.

That makes this card a nice transitional issue within a comprehensive Parrish collection. While several later 1989 releases updated Parrish to his new California Angels affiliation, Score's regular issue continued to showcase the veteran catcher with Philadelphia.

Parrish's final Phillies season produced one of the major milestones of his career. He was selected to the 1988 National League All-Star team, joining pitcher Kevin Gross as Philadelphia's representatives. It was Parrish's eighth career All-Star selection and his first as a National Leaguer after previously earning All-Star honors with Detroit in the American League.

During that 1988 season, Parrish appeared in 123 games, collecting 91 hits, 17 doubles, two triples, 15 home runs and 60 RBI. He remained Philadelphia's primary catcher throughout the season.

The 1989 Score design also gives the card a distinctly different appearance from Parrish's Fleer, Donruss and Topps releases from the same period. For collectors assembling deep player runs, these late-team-affiliation cards are particularly interesting because they document the lag between an offseason transaction and the following year's baseball card production.

Parrish's career extended well beyond Philadelphia. He finished 19 Major League seasons with 1,782 hits, 324 home runs and 1,070 RBI, while earning eight All-Star selections, three Gold Gloves and six Silver Slugger Awards. His rsum is highlighted by his role with the 1984 World Series Champion Detroit Tigers.
