Add a classic transitional-year issue of one of the premier catchers of the 1980s with this 1987 Fleer #160 Lance Parrish card featuring him with the Detroit Tigers, personally autographed by the eight-time All-Star and key member of Detroit's 1984 World Series championship team.

The 1987 Fleer #160 captures Parrish at the very end of his original run with Detroit. Although Parrish became a free agent following the 1986 season and joined the Philadelphia Phillies for 1987, his early 1987 cards continued to picture him in a Tigers uniform. That makes this Fleer issue a nice transitional piece connecting his long Detroit career with the next chapter in Philadelphia. Parrish's statistics confirm 1986 as his final Detroit season before moving to Philadelphia in 1987.

Parrish remained one of baseball's premier power-hitting catchers during his final year with the Tigers. Back problems limited him to just 91 games in 1986, but he still batted .257 with 22 home runs and 62 RBI, producing a .483 slugging percentage and .823 OPS.

Most of that production came during an outstanding first half. Parrish entered the 1986 All-Star break with 21 home runs and 59 RBI, earning another selection to the American League All-Star team. It continued a remarkable stretch in which he was selected as an All-Star every season from 1982 through 1986.

Parrish also captured the 1986 American League Silver Slugger Award at catcher, beating out his peers as the league's top offensive performer at the position despite missing substantial time with injuries.

His Detroit career had already been highlighted by the unforgettable 1984 World Series championship. Parrish was part of the outstanding Tigers core alongside Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker, Jack Morris and Kirk Gibson that developed into Detroit's championship nucleus.

Parrish ultimately completed a 19-year Major League career with 1,782 hits, 324 home runs and 1,070 RBI. His accomplishments include multiple All-Star selections, three Gold Gloves and six Silver Slugger Awards, making him one of the most accomplished catchers of his era.
