The 1982 Fleer #276 comes from Fleer's second modern baseball release and follows Parrish's first Fleer card from the landmark 1981 set. It captures Parrish just as he was entering the prime of an outstanding career behind the plate for Detroit.

In 1982, he appeared in 133 games and batted .284 with 138 hits, 19 doubles, 32 home runs and 87 RBI, while posting a .529 slugging percentage and an excellent .867 OPS. His 32 home runs led the Tigers, and his 5.0 WAR was among the best marks of his career.

Parrish's performance earned him his second American League All-Star selection and second Silver Slugger Award, while he also finished 13th in American League MVP voting. His 135 OPS+ demonstrates just how productive he was offensively while handling the demanding everyday catching duties.

The 1982 season helped establish Parrish as one of the cornerstones of the talented Tigers club developing around Alan Trammell, Lou Whitaker, Jack Morris and Kirk Gibson.
