Lance Parrish Autographed 1983 Fleer #337 Detroit Tigers Card

Add a terrific prime-era issue of one of the premier power-hitting catchers of the 1980s with this 1983 Fleer #337 Lance Parrish card featuring him with the Detroit Tigers, personally autographed by the future World Series champion.

The 1983 Fleer #337 was issued as Parrish was firmly establishing himself among the American League's elite catchers. He entered the season coming off an outstanding 1982 campaign, when he batted .284 with 138 hits, 32 home runs and 87 RBI, earning All-Star and Silver Slugger honors while finishing 13th in American League MVP voting.

Parrish followed that performance with an even bigger run-producing season in 1983. Playing 155 games for Detroit, he collected 163 hits, a career-high 42 doubles, 27 home runs and a career-high 114 RBI. His 114 RBI would be the only 100-RBI season of his Major League career and made him the first Tigers catcher in 45 years to surpass the century mark.

His all-around performance earned him an impressive collection of honors. Parrish was selected to the American League All-Star team, won his first Gold Glove Award and captured another Silver Slugger Award. He also finished ninth in American League MVP voting, underscoring his value both offensively and behind the plate.

The card also comes from the season immediately preceding Detroit's unforgettable 1984 World Series championship. Parrish would lead that championship club with 33 home runs and 98 RBI, again earning All-Star, Gold Glove and Silver Slugger honors. He also homered in the decisive Game 5 of the World Series against San Diego.

Parrish ultimately became an eight-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner and six-time Silver Slugger winner, finishing his 19-year Major League career with 1,782 hits, 324 home runs and 1,070 RBI.
