Lance Parrish Autographed 1981 Topps Coca-Cola Detroit Tigers Card #7

This card comes from the special 1981 Topps Coca-Cola Detroit Tigers team set. Unlike Parrish's regular 1981 Topps #392, the Coca-Cola version is part of an 11-card Tigers set that was distributed in specially marked Coca-Cola products in the Detroit area. The cards use the familiar 1981 Topps design but feature an added Coca-Cola logo on the front, giving them a distinctive regional promotional identity. Parrish is correctly cataloged as card #7.

The Detroit checklist is particularly appealing because it includes several players who would form the nucleus of the Tigers' future championship club. In addition to Parrish, the 11-card set includes Jack Morris #6, Alan Trammell #9, Lou Whitaker #10 and Kirk Gibson #11.

The card was issued immediately following Parrish's breakout 1980 season, when he batted .286 with 24 home runs, 82 RBI, 34 doubles and 158 hits. He finished his 19-year Major League career as an eight-time All-Star, six-time Silver Slugger Award winner and three-time Gold Glove Award winner, with 324 career home runs and 1,070 RBI.
