Add an attractive second-year Fleer Ultra issue from the closing chapter of Lance Parrish's California Angels career with this 1992 Fleer Ultra #28, personally autographed by one of the premier power-hitting catchers of his generation.
Parrish is correctly cataloged as #28 in the 1992 Ultra set, appearing in the California Angels portion of the checklist between Bryan Harvey #27 and Luis Polonia #29.
The 1992 Ultra release was only the second year of Fleer's premium Ultra baseball brand, following its debut in 1991. The product continued the hobby's early-1990s movement toward higher-quality photography and a more polished presentation, making Parrish's #28 a natural companion to his 1991 Fleer Ultra #51.
The card also represents the final season of Parrish's California Angels tenure. He joined the Angels in 1989 and enjoyed his best season with the club in 1990, batting .268 with 24 home runs and 70 RBI while earning his eighth career All-Star selection and sixth Silver Slugger Award.
Parrish remained California's primary catcher through 1991 before beginning the 1992 season with the Angels. He appeared in just 24 games in 1992 before California released him on June 23, after which he quickly joined the Seattle Mariners and finished the season there.
That gives the 1992 Fleer Ultra #28 some additional transition-year appeal. Although Parrish would spend most of the 1992 season with Seattle, Ultra still depicts him as a California Angel, making it one of the last Fleer-produced cards documenting that four-year portion of his career.
Parrish ultimately played 19 Major League seasons, finishing with 1,782 hits, 324 home runs and 1,070 RBI. His rsum includes eight All-Star selections, three Gold Gloves, six Silver Slugger Awards and a World Series championship as the starting catcher for the 1984 Detroit Tigers.

For the Parrish run, this is a nice companion to the 1991 Ultra #51. Having his cards from each of Ultra's first two seasons gives the collection another small but meaningful run within the larger Parrish collection, while the 1992 card also documents the end of his California Angels tenure.
