Parrish remained the Angels' primary catcher during 1991. He appeared in 119 games, collecting 87 hits and 12 doubles while hitting 19 home runs with 51 RBI. Even at age 35, his power remained an important part of the California lineup.

In fact, Parrish's 19 home runs ranked third on the Angels, trailing only Dave Winfield's 28 and Wally Joyner's 21. He finished ahead of Gary Gaetti, Dave Parker and the rest of the California roster in that category.
