Lance Parrish Autographed 1990 Topps #575 California Angels Card

The card represents Parrish during his second season with the California Angels, and 1990 turned into one of the finest late-career campaigns of his 19-year Major League career. At age 34, Parrish showed that he remained an elite offensive threat at a demanding position.

Parrish appeared in 133 games in 1990, batting .268 with 126 hits, 14 doubles, 24 home runs and 70 RBI. He added a .338 on-base percentage and .451 slugging percentage while producing a 123 OPS+ and 4.5 WAR. In fact, his 4.5 WAR was the highest total among California's position players that season.

His performance earned Parrish selection to the 1990 American League All-Star team, where he represented the Angels alongside pitcher Chuck Finley. Parrish made the most of his All-Star Game appearance, going 1-for-1 with a walk.

The season also brought Parrish the American League Silver Slugger Award at catcher, the sixth and final Silver Slugger of his career. His earlier Silver Sluggers came with Detroit in 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984 and 1986.

Parrish remained a true everyday catcher despite being well into his 30s. He appeared in 131 games behind the plate and made 125 starts at catcher, logging 1,098 innings while posting a .993 fielding percentage.
