Lance Parrish Autographed 1990 Score #35 California Angels Card

By 1990, Parrish was in his second season with the California Angels, and at age 34 he produced a tremendous resurgence. He appeared in 133 games and batted .268 with 126 hits, 14 doubles, 24 home runs and 70 RBI, while posting a .338 on-base percentage and .451 slugging percentage. His 123 OPS+ made him 23 percent better than the league-average hitter after adjusting for league and ballpark.

Parrish's overall performance was worth 4.5 WAR, the highest total among Angels position players in 1990. It was also his best WAR total since the Tigers' memorable 1984 World Series championship season.

His performance earned him selection to the 1990 American League All-Star team, where he represented California alongside pitcher Chuck Finley. Parrish recorded a hit and a walk in the game. It proved to be the eighth and final All-Star selection of his career.

Parrish also captured the 1990 American League Silver Slugger Award at catcher, the sixth Silver Slugger of his career. Even deep into his career, he remained an everyday catcher, appearing in 131 games behind the plate and making 125 starts during the season.

His 24 home runs were Parrish's highest total since hitting 28 for Detroit in 1985 and helped reinforce his reputation as one of the premier power-hitting catchers of his generation. He eventually finished his Major League career with 324 home runs and 1,070 RBI.
