Willie McGee & Lonnie Smith Autographed 1984 Donruss #625 St. Louis Cardinals Card

Add a terrific dual-signed St. Louis Cardinals card featuring two key members of the club's 1982 World Series championship team with this 1984 Donruss #625 Willie McGee & Lonnie Smith card, personally autographed by both McGee and Smith.

The card pairs two of the fastest and most exciting players from the Cardinals teams of the early 1980s. McGee and Smith were both important parts of manager Whitey Herzog's speed-oriented style of baseball, and each played a significant role in bringing the 1982 World Series championship to St. Louis.

Both players made major contributions during that championship World Series against the Milwaukee Brewers. Smith started all seven games and batted .321 with nine hits, four doubles, a triple, six runs scored and a stolen base. McGee delivered one of the signature performances of the Series in Game 3, blasting two home runs and driving in four runs in a 6-2 Cardinals victory.

By the time this 1984 Donruss card was issued, both remained prominent members of the Cardinals. In 1983, Smith batted an outstanding .321 with 158 hits, 83 runs scored, 31 doubles and 43 stolen bases. McGee collected 172 hits, 75 RBI and 39 stolen bases while earning his first All-Star selection and first Gold Glove Award.

McGee would go on to become one of the most popular Cardinals of his era. His career reached another level in 1985, when he led the National League with a .353 batting average, 216 hits and 18 triples while scoring 114 runs and stealing 56 bases. That remarkable season earned him the National League Most Valuable Player Award, along with another All-Star selection, Gold Glove and Silver Slugger.

Smith enjoyed an outstanding career of his own and was one of baseball's premier speed threats. His remarkable 1982 season included a .307 batting average, 120 runs scored and 68 stolen bases, earning him an All-Star selection and a second-place finish in National League MVP voting.

The presence of both autographs on the same card makes this a particularly attractive Cardinals collectible, combining two members of the 1982 championship club on a single vintage Donruss issue.
