Willie McGee Autographed 1984 Donruss #353 St. Louis Cardinals Card

The 1984 Donruss #353 captures McGee near the beginning of his outstanding Cardinals career, just two years after he made an immediate impact as a rookie and helped St. Louis capture the 1982 World Series championship. During that World Series against Milwaukee, McGee famously hit two home runs in Game 3, driving in four runs in a 6-2 Cardinals victory. He finished third in National League Rookie of the Year voting that season.

McGee followed his impressive rookie campaign with a breakout 1983 season, making this 1984 Donruss card particularly appealing. He batted .286 with 172 hits, 75 runs, 75 RBI and 39 stolen bases, earning his first National League All-Star selection and first Gold Glove Award.

In 1984, McGee continued to develop into one of the National League's most dynamic all-around players. He hit .291 with 166 hits, 11 triples, 82 runs scored and 43 stolen bases. He also became the first Cardinal since Lou Brock in 1975 to hit for the cycle, accomplishing the feat against the Chicago Cubs on June 23, 1984.

McGee's career reached another level the following season. In 1985, he led the National League with a .353 batting average, 216 hits and 18 triples, while scoring 114 runs and stealing 56 bases. He was named the National League Most Valuable Player and also earned All-Star, Gold Glove and Silver Slugger honors as St. Louis returned to the World Series.

Over his career, McGee became a four-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner and two-time National League batting champion, finishing with 2,254 hits, 1,010 runs and 352 stolen bases.
