Featuring Lezcano in his Pittsburgh Pirates uniform, this collectible captures a talented right fielder known for his powerful throwing arm, strong defense, and productive bat during an accomplished Major League career.

Sixto Lezcano enjoyed a 12-season Major League career from 1974 through 1985, playing for the Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, Philadelphia Phillies, and Pittsburgh Pirates. A native of Puerto Rico, Lezcano established himself as a respected outfielder who combined offensive power with excellent defensive ability.

Lezcano made his Major League debut with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1974 and quickly became an important part of the franchise's developing roster. During the second half of the 1970s, he emerged as one of Milwaukee's most productive hitters and strongest defensive outfielders.

His breakout season came in 1979, when he batted .321 with 28 home runs and 101 RBIs. That outstanding performance helped the Brewers establish themselves as one of the American League's most exciting offensive teams.

Lezcano also demonstrated exceptional patience at the plate, finishing the 1979 season with a remarkable .414 on-base percentage. His combination of power, batting average, and ability to reach base made him one of the American League's most productive hitters that year.

Defensively, Lezcano earned American League Gold Glove Awards in 1979 and 1980, recognizing his outstanding play in right field. His powerful throwing arm and ability to cover ground made him one of the league's premier defensive outfielders.

One of Lezcano's most memorable accomplishments occurred on Opening Day in 1978, when he hit a grand slam for the Milwaukee Brewers. He repeated the feat on Opening Day in 1979, becoming the first player in Major League history to hit grand slams on Opening Day in consecutive seasons.

Following his successful years in Milwaukee, Lezcano joined the St. Louis Cardinals in 1981 before moving to the San Diego Padres, where he continued contributing as an experienced outfielder.

In 1983, Lezcano was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies, becoming part of the memorable "Wheeze Kids" team that captured the National League pennant.

That Philadelphia club featured stars such as Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, Pete Rose, Joe Morgan, and Tony Prez. The Phillies defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series before facing the Baltimore Orioles in the World Series.

Lezcano contributed to Philadelphia's successful season, adding another postseason accomplishment to a career already highlighted by his years in Milwaukee.

He later joined the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1985, bringing veteran experience to a roster that included players such as Tony Pea, Johnny Ray, Bill Madlock, and Rick Rhoden.

Lezcano completed his Major League career in 1985, finishing with 148 home runs, 591 RBIs, and a .271 career batting average.

The 1985 Topps Traded #75T card features Lezcano in his Pittsburgh Pirates uniform during the final season of his Major League career.
