Ruppert Jones Autographed 1985 Fleer Update #U-63 California Angels Card

Add a California Angels issue of two-time All-Star outfielder Ruppert Jones with this Ruppert Jones autographed 1985 Fleer Update #U-63 California Angels card. The Fleer Update set documented players appearing with new clubs, and #U-63 captures Jones after joining California during the 1985 season following an earlier stint with the Detroit Tigers.

Jones brought the Angels a combination of power, speed and veteran experience. During the 1985 season, he appeared in 96 games for California and hit 10 home runs as the Angels remained in contention in the American League West throughout the summer.

Jones first became a prominent Major Leaguer as an original member of the Seattle Mariners, who selected him from Kansas City in the 1976 expansion draft. In Seattles inaugural 1977 season, Jones became the first player in Mariners history selected to the All-Star Game, establishing himself as one of the young franchises earliest stars.

He earned his second All-Star selection with the New York Yankees in 1982 and later contributed to the 1984 World Series champion Detroit Tigers. Jones appeared in both the American League Championship Series and World Series as Detroit completed one of the most dominant seasons of the decade.

Jones played parts of 12 Major League seasons with the Royals, Mariners, Yankees, Padres, Tigers and Angels. The 1985 Fleer Update #U-63 documents the final stop of his Major League career and is an excellent addition for California Angels collectors, Ruppert Jones fans, Fleer Update set collectors, All-Star collections or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
