Michael Barrett Autographed 2004 Fleer Ultra Gold Medallion #256 Chicago Cubs Card
Add a signed parallel card of All-Star catcher Michael Barrett with this 2004 Fleer Ultra Gold Medallion #256 Chicago Cubs issue.
This card comes from the premium 2004 Fleer Ultra set and is the desirable Gold Medallion parallel. The 395-card release was issued in two series and continued Fleer's tradition of premium card stock, glossy UV-coated finishes, and outstanding photography. Gold Medallion cards feature distinctive gold foil enhancements and were inserted at approximately one per hobby pack, making them significantly more collectible than the standard base cards.
Originally selected by the Montreal Expos with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 1995 MLB Draft, Michael Barrett enjoyed an 11-year Major League career with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, and Toronto Blue Jays. After being traded to the Cubs prior to the 2004 season, Barrett developed into one of the National League's premier offensive catchers. In 2005, he earned his first National League All-Star selection, won the National League Silver Slugger Award, batted .307, hit 16 home runs, and drove in 75 RBIs. Those accomplishments made him one of the most productive catchers in baseball.
Issued during Barrett's first season with the Chicago Cubs, this Gold Medallion parallel captures the beginning of the most successful chapter of his Major League career. The premium gold foil treatment and glossy Ultra finish make it a more desirable version than the standard base card and an outstanding early Cubs collectible.
