Add a signed card of All-Star catcher Michael Barrett with this 2004 Fleer Ultra #256 Chicago Cubs issue.
This card comes from the 2004 Fleer Ultra set, a 395-card release issued in two series that continued one of Fleer's most respected premium baseball brands. Known for its glossy UV-coated finish, premium card stock, and outstanding full-color photography, Fleer Ultra remained a hobby favorite throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. The 2004 edition also featured the popular Gold Medallion, Platinum Medallion, and Masterpieces parallels, along with numerous insert sets that added depth and collectibility to the product. Michael Barrett appears as card #256 in the base set.
Originally selected by the Montreal Expos with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 1995 MLB Draft, Michael Barrett enjoyed an 11-year Major League career with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, and Toronto Blue Jays. After being traded to the Cubs prior to the 2004 season, Barrett became one of the National League's premier offensive catchers. In 2005, he earned his first National League All-Star selection, won the National League Silver Slugger Award, batted .307, hit 16 home runs, and drove in 75 RBIs while establishing himself as one of baseball's elite catchers.
Issued during Barrett's first season with the Chicago Cubs, this card captures the beginning of the most successful chapter of his Major League career. The premium Ultra finish, sharp photography, and clean design make it one of his most attractive early Cubs cards and a great companion to his 2005 All-Star season collectibles.
