Add a signed card of future Silver Slugger catcher Michael Barrett with this 2003 Upper Deck #436 Montreal Expos issue.
This card comes from the flagship 2003 Upper Deck baseball set, a 535-card release that continued Upper Deck's tradition of premium photography, glossy card stock, and innovative design. The expansive checklist features established stars, rising young talent, and the popular 40-Man subset, while numerous inserts and parallels gave collectors additional ways to build the set. It remains one of the company's signature flagship releases of the early 2000s.
Selected by the Montreal Expos with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 1995 MLB Draft, Michael Barrett enjoyed an 11-year Major League career with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, and Toronto Blue Jays. Originally drafted as a shortstop, Barrett successfully transitioned to catcher in the minor leagues and developed into one of the National League's premier offensive backstops. He finished his career with 98 home runs, 424 RBIs, a .263 batting average, and captured the 2005 National League Silver Slugger Award.
Issued during Barrett's final season with the Montreal Expos organization, this card represents the closing chapter of his time in Montreal before his December 2003 trade that ultimately sent him to the Chicago Cubs, where he enjoyed the best years of his Major League career. Its sharp photography and classic Upper Deck presentation make it one of his standout Expos-era flagship cards.
