Add a signed premium card of future Silver Slugger catcher Michael Barrett with this 2003 Donruss Elite #132 Montreal Expos issue.
This card comes from the 2003 Donruss Elite set, a 200-card hobby-exclusive release that continued Donruss' long-running Elite brand. The first 180 cards feature established Major League stars, while the final 20 Rookie cards are printed on holographic foil board and serial numbered to 1,750 copies. The set is known for its premium foil-board construction, limited print runs, and numerous serial-numbered inserts, making it one of Donruss' flagship products of the early 2000s. Michael Barrett's #132 is part of the main veteran checklist.
Selected by the Montreal Expos with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 1995 MLB Draft, Michael Barrett enjoyed an 11-year Major League career with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, and Toronto Blue Jays. Originally drafted as a shortstop, Barrett successfully transitioned to catcher in the minor leagues and developed into one of the National League's premier offensive backstops. He finished his career with 98 home runs, 424 RBIs, a .263 batting average, and earned the 2005 National League Silver Slugger Award.
Issued during Barrett's final season with the Montreal Expos organization, this premium Donruss Elite card captures him just before he was traded to the Chicago Cubs, where he would become one of the National League's top offensive catchers. Its foil-board finish and upscale Elite presentation make it one of his most attractive mainstream cards from the Expos years.
