Add another short-tenure Pittsburgh Pirates issue to a comprehensive Lance Parrish autograph collection with this 1995 Score #550, personally autographed by the eight-time Major League All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner, six-time Silver Slugger winner and starting catcher for the 1984 World Series Champion Detroit Tigers.
The 1995 Score #550 depicts Parrish as a member of the Pittsburgh Pirates and represents his lone season with the organization. Although issued in 1995, the card reflects his 1994 Pirates tenure; Parrish had moved on to the Toronto Blue Jays for the 1995 season, which ultimately became the final year of his Major League career.
Pittsburgh was one of the shortest stops of Parrish's 19-year career. He appeared in just 40 games during the strike-shortened 1994 season, but the 38-year-old veteran remained productive in his limited role. Parrish batted .270 with 34 hits, five doubles, three home runs and 16 RBI in 126 at-bats.
Parrish also showed excellent plate discipline during his Pirates stint, drawing 18 walks and posting a .363 on-base percentage and .744 OPS. He appeared in 38 games behind the plate, including 35 starts, while also making a brief appearance at first base.
The Pirates were the sixth of seven Major League organizations Parrish represented. After Pittsburgh, he joined Toronto in 1995 and played his final 70 games before retiring with 1,782 hits, 305 doubles, 324 home runs and 1,070 RBI.

For the Parrish run, the Pittsburgh cards have a nice short-tenure collecting angle. He played only 40 games for the Pirates, so cards like the 1995 Collector's Choice #377, Fleer #487 and Score #550 represent a comparatively small portion of his career checklist. That's a worthwhile selling point for collectors pursuing Parrish across every team and issue rather than simply his much more plentiful Detroit cards.
