Featuring one of Cincinnatis most talented young hitters of the late 1980s, this Kal Daniels autographed 1988 Topps #622 Cincinnati Reds card comes from the classic Topps flagship release. The 1988 Topps design features a colorful team-name header and prominent player photography, capturing Daniels during an exciting early portion of his Reds career.

Daniels entered the 1988 season following a remarkable 1987 campaign. In only 108 games, he batted .334 with 26 home runs, 64 RBI and 26 stolen bases, while posting a .429 on-base percentage and .617 slugging percentage. That combination of average, power, speed and patience established Daniels as one of the National Leagues most dangerous young offensive players.

He continued producing in 1988, batting .291 with 18 home runs, 64 RBI and 27 stolen bases. Daniels also drew 75 walks and recorded a .397 on-base percentage, giving him 53 stolen bases and 44 home runs across the 1987 and 1988 seasons despite appearing in only 248 games.

Originally selected by Cincinnati in the first round of the 1982 MLB Draft, Daniels debuted with the Reds in 1986 and immediately batted .320 with a .429 on-base percentage in 74 games. He later joined the Los Angeles Dodgers and enjoyed another strong season in 1990, hitting .296 with 27 home runs and 94 RBI.

Although injuries limited Daniels to seven Major League seasons, his offensive numbers illustrate how productive he was when healthy. He finished with a .285 batting average, .382 on-base percentage, 104 home runs and 87 stolen bases.
