Featuring Kal Daniels during the early stages of his Cincinnati Reds career, this Kal Daniels autographed 1987 Topps #466 Cincinnati Reds card comes from one of the most recognizable Topps releases of the 1980s. The 1987 set is instantly identified by its woodgrain-style borders, giving Daniels an early-career Topps issue from the season in which he emerged as one of baseballs most exciting young hitters.

Daniels had reached the Major Leagues with Cincinnati in 1986 and immediately demonstrated his offensive ability, batting .320 with a .429 on-base percentage in 74 games. That impressive debut provided a preview of the exceptional season that followed.

In 1987, Daniels batted an outstanding .334 with 26 home runs, 64 RBI and 26 stolen bases in only 108 games. He scored 74 runs and posted a .429 on-base percentage and .617 slugging percentage, combining batting average, power, speed and plate discipline at an elite level. Despite playing barely two-thirds of a full season, he received votes in the National League Most Valuable Player race.

Daniels remained a productive hitter for Cincinnati before being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers during the 1989 season. He later delivered another standout campaign in 1990, batting .296 with 27 home runs and 94 RBI for Los Angeles.

Injuries ultimately limited Daniels to seven Major League seasons, but his career numbers reflect his considerable offensive talent. He finished with a .285 batting average, .382 on-base percentage, 104 home runs and 87 stolen bases. The 1987 Topps #466 combines an early Daniels issue with the memorable woodgrain design, making it an appealing addition for Cincinnati Reds collectors, Kal Daniels fans, 1987 Topps collectors or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
