The 1992 Topps Gold release holds a significant place in hobby history. Topps created a Gold counterpart to virtually the entire 1992 flagship checklist, making it one of the hobby's earliest true pack-inserted parallel sets. The Gold cards retain the basic design and photography of the standard Topps release but replace the printed player and team identification with distinctive embossed gold-foil lettering.
