Add a signed card from one of the most important Bowman releases of the 1990s with this 1992 Bowman #253 Juan Samuel card featuring Samuel with the Los Angeles Dodgers, personally autographed by the three-time MLB All-Star.
The 1992 Bowman set represented a major transformation for the Bowman brand. After several relatively basic releases following Bowman's 1989 revival, Topps upgraded the 1992 product with slick UV-coated white card stock, crisp full-color photography and a cleaner premium presentation. The set contains 705 cards and was issued in one comprehensive series.
Samuel is correctly featured as card #253 with the Los Angeles Dodgers, appearing on the checklist immediately before Terry Pendleton #254 and Dodgers teammate Ramon Martinez #255.
The set has become particularly well regarded because of its exceptional prospect and rookie checklist. Mike Piazza, Mariano Rivera, Manny Ramirez, Carlos Delgado and Trevor Hoffman are among its key rookie cards, helping 1992 Bowman develop a much stronger hobby reputation than many other releases from the period.
Samuel's card comes from the final season of his Dodgers tenure. He had earned his third career MLB All-Star selection with Los Angeles in 1991, and the 1992 Bowman #253 serves as one of his last mainstream cards depicting him as a Dodger before the next chapter of his career.
