Own an autographed 1989 Score #255 baseball card personally signed by Juan Samuel, featuring the dynamic second baseman with the Philadelphia Phillies. This classic Score flagship issue comes from Samuel's final season with Philadelphia and captures one of the club's most exciting players of the 1980s near the conclusion of his original Phillies tenure.

The 1989 Score baseball set followed the company's popular 1988 debut and continued Score's emphasis on colorful designs, sharp photography, and detailed player information. Card #255 features Juan Samuel with the Philadelphia Phillies and provides another mainstream issue for collectors building a comprehensive run of his extensive card career.

Samuel burst onto the Major League scene during his first full season in 1984, batting .272 with 15 home runs, 69 RBIs, 19 triples, and 72 stolen bases. His 72 steals established a Phillies single-season record at the time, while his 19 triples led the National League. Samuel earned his first MLB All-Star selection and finished second in National League Rookie of the Year voting.

Speed was only part of Samuel's game. He again led the National League in triples in 1985, and by 1987 had developed into a legitimate power threat. That season, Samuel batted .272 with career highs of 28 home runs and 100 RBIs, while adding 15 triples and 35 stolen bases. His outstanding performance earned him his second All-Star selection.

The 1989 season marked the conclusion of Samuel's original run with Philadelphia. On June 18, the Phillies traded him to the New York Mets in exchange for Lenny Dykstra and Roger McDowell. Samuel's 1989 Phillies cards therefore represent the final group of mainstream issues depicting him with the team where he established himself as a Major League star.

Samuel continued his career with several organizations and earned his third MLB All-Star selection with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1991. Over 16 Major League seasons, he accumulated 1,578 hits, 161 home runs, 396 stolen bases, and 102 triples. He later returned to the Phillies organization as a coach, extending his association with Philadelphia well beyond his playing days.

Personally signed by Juan Samuel, this 1989 Score #255 is an excellent collectible from the final season of his original Philadelphia Phillies tenure.
