Featuring George Bell with the Toronto Blue Jays, this George Bell autographed 1982 Fleer #609 Rookie Card is an early-career issue of one of the franchise's first major stars. Bell developed into a feared run producer in Toronto and became the first player in Blue Jays history to win the American League Most Valuable Player Award.

Originally signed by the Philadelphia Phillies, Bell was selected by Toronto in the 1980 Rule 5 Draft and made his Major League debut with the Blue Jays in 1981. He appeared in 60 games during the strike-shortened season, giving collectors their first look at the outfielder who would become a cornerstone of Toronto's rise during the 1980s.

Bell established himself as an everyday player by 1984, batting .292 with 26 home runs and 87 RBI. The following season he helped the 1985 Blue Jays win 99 games and capture the first American League East championship in franchise history, hitting 28 home runs with 95 RBI.

His signature season came in 1987, when Bell batted .308 with 188 hits, 32 doubles, 47 home runs and 134 RBI. His 47 homers and 134 RBI were career highs, and the performance earned him the American League MVP Award.

Bell was a three-time All-Star and three-time Silver Slugger Award winner during a 12-season Major League career with the Blue Jays, Cubs and White Sox. He finished with 1,702 hits, 265 home runs and 1,002 RBI. Combining an early rookie-card issue with one of Toronto's most accomplished hitters, the 1982 Fleer #609 Rookie Card is an appealing addition for Blue Jays collectors, George Bell fans, MVP collections, rookie-card collectors or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
