The 1992 Stadium Club #751 Chris Hammond features the left-handed pitcher with the Cincinnati Reds during the early stages of his Major League career. Personally autographed by Hammond, this card comes from Topps' premium Stadium Club line, a brand that helped redefine baseball card photography and presentation during the early 1990s.

Introduced just one year earlier, Stadium Club distinguished itself with premium card stock, glossy surfaces and full-bleed photography without traditional borders. The photography-focused format gave collectors a much different presentation than standard Topps cards and made Stadium Club one of the era's most recognizable premium products.

Hammond was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the sixth round of the 1986 MLB Draft after pitching at the University of Alabama. He advanced through Cincinnati's farm system before making his Major League debut on July 16, 1990.

The 1992 Stadium Club #751 dates from Hammond's final season in the Cincinnati organization. Following the season, the newly formed Florida Marlins selected him in the 1992 MLB Expansion Draft, a move that provided Hammond with his first opportunity to become a full-time Major League starting pitcher.

Hammond capitalized on that opportunity in 1993, making 32 starts and finishing 15-12 during the Marlins' inaugural season. His 15 victories led Florida and remained the highest single-season win total of his Major League career.

Nearly a decade later, Hammond authored an extraordinary comeback. After spending three seasons away from the Major Leagues, he returned with the Atlanta Braves in 2002 at age 36 and reinvented himself as a relief pitcher. Hammond went 7-2 with a 0.95 ERA in 63 appearances, allowing only seven earned runs over 76 innings.

His success in Atlanta extended his career through 2006. Hammond ultimately appeared in parts of 14 Major League seasons, pitching for seven organizations and finding success in both starting and relief roles.
