Add an excellent Triple-A All-Star issue of Bruce Fields with this 1989 CMC Triple A All-Stars #36 card, personally autographed by the Calgary Cannons outfielder. Fields is correctly cataloged as card #36 in the CMC Triple A All-Stars set and is identified with Calgary.
This card represents one of the finest seasons of Fields professional career. Playing for the Triple-A Calgary Cannons, the Seattle Mariners' Pacific Coast League affiliate, Fields appeared in 101 games and produced an outstanding .351 batting average, .416 on-base percentage and .533 slugging percentage. He collected 143 hits, including 36 doubles, four triples and 10 home runs, scored 88 runs and stole 14 bases.
Most notably, Fields' .351 batting average led the entire Pacific Coast League in 1989. That accomplishment makes his appearance in the CMC Triple A All-Stars set especially meaningful rather than simply another minor league team issue.
Fields also spent a brief portion of the 1989 season with the Seattle Mariners, appearing in three Major League games. He went 1-for-3 with a double and scored twice in what proved to be his final Major League appearances.
For a comprehensive Bruce Fields collection, this card makes an excellent companion to his 1989 CMC Calgary Cannons #19. The regular team card documents his season with Calgary, while this Triple A All-Stars #36 recognizes Fields during a year in which he captured the PCL batting championship.
