Pairing Tony Batista with one of Topps most popular retro-themed products, this Tony Batista autographed 2004 Topps Heritage #323 Baltimore Orioles card features the power-hitting infielder with Baltimore. The 2004 Topps Heritage set pays tribute to the classic 1955 Topps design, incorporating the horizontal format, prominent player portrait and action imagery that made the original set one of the most recognizable releases of the 1950s.

Although Batista joined the Montreal Expos for the 2004 season, this Heritage issue retains his Baltimore Orioles affiliation, reflecting the productive three-year stretch he had just completed with the club. Batista joined Baltimore during the 2001 season after being claimed off waivers from Toronto and immediately became one of the Orioles primary power threats.

His best season with Baltimore came in 2002, when he appeared in 161 games, led the Orioles with 31 home runs and drove in 87 runs. That performance earned Batista his second American League All-Star selection, following his first with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2000.

Batista remained a consistent run producer in 2003, again playing 161 games while hitting 26 home runs and driving in 99 runs, his highest RBI total as an Oriole. Across parts of three seasons with Baltimore from 2001 through 2003, he accumulated 82 home runs and 273 RBI before moving on to Montreal.

Known for his extraordinarily wide-open batting stance, Batista finished his 11-year Major League career with 1,146 hits, 221 home runs and 718 RBI. Combining the classic 1955-inspired Heritage design with Batistas Baltimore affiliation, the 2004 Topps Heritage #323 is an appealing addition for Orioles collectors, Tony Batista fans, Topps Heritage set collectors or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
