A serial-numbered issue from one of Upper Decks more limited early-2000s products, this Tony Batista autographed 2003 Upper Deck Finite #13 SN1999 Baltimore Orioles card features Batista during his productive tenure in Baltimore. Unlike traditional mass-produced base cards, this Finite issue was individually serial numbered to 1,999 copies, adding a defined production limit to the cards appeal.

Batista entered 2003 following an American League All-Star season with Baltimore. In 2002, he appeared in 161 games, led the Orioles with 31 home runs and drove in 87 runs, earning the second All-Star selection of his career after previously representing Toronto in 2000.

He remained one of Baltimores primary power hitters and run producers during 2003, once again appearing in 161 games. Batista hit 26 home runs and drove in 99 runs, his highest RBI total during his Orioles tenure. From his arrival in Baltimore during 2001 through the end of 2003, he accumulated 82 home runs and 273 RBI.

Batista was one of the most recognizable hitters of his generation because of his extraordinarily wide-open batting stance. He paired that unconventional approach with legitimate power, recording three seasons with at least 30 home runs. His biggest offensive year came with Toronto in 2000, when he established career highs with 41 home runs and 114 RBI while earning his first All-Star selection.

The two-time American League All-Star completed his 11-year Major League career with 1,146 hits, 221 home runs and 718 RBI. With its individually numbered 1,999-card production, the 2003 Upper Deck Finite #13 offers a particularly interesting alternative to Batistas standard 2003 releases for Baltimore Orioles collectors, serial-numbered card collectors or those assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
