In 1981, he helped the franchise reach the postseason for the first time and delivered outstanding performances in October, including a complete-game shutout against Philadelphia in the National League Division Series and another complete-game victory against Los Angeles in the NL Championship Series.

Spending his entire 13-year Major League career with Montreal, Rogers finished with 158 victories, a 3.17 ERA, 129 complete games, 37 shutouts and 1,621 strikeouts. He remains the Expos franchise leader in several major pitching categories, including career wins.
