Featuring Ramon Aviles with the Philadelphia Phillies, this Ramon Aviles autographed 1982 Fleer #239 Philadelphia Phillies card showcases the versatile Puerto Rican infielder during the final season of his Major League playing career.

Born in Manat, Puerto Rico, Aviles began his professional baseball career in the Boston Red Sox organization before making his Major League debut with Boston in 1977. He later joined the Philadelphia Phillies, where his ability to handle multiple infield positions made him a useful reserve player.

Aviles provided Philadelphia with valuable depth at shortstop, second base and third base, offering the flexibility needed to support a talented infield that included Larry Bowa, Manny Trillo, Mike Schmidt and Pete Rose.

His most memorable season came in 1980, when he was a member of the Phillies team that captured the first World Series championship in franchise history. Philadelphia defeated the Houston Astros in a dramatic National League Championship Series before overcoming the Kansas City Royals in six games to secure the championship.

Although Aviles served primarily in a reserve role, his presence on the roster contributed to the depth of a Philadelphia team that featured numerous established stars and dependable supporting players.

Aviles remained with the Phillies through the 1981 season, appearing in 47 games during the strike-shortened campaign. The 1982 Fleer #239 represents the final chapter of his Major League playing career, which concluded in 1981.

Across five Major League seasons, Aviles appeared in 117 games with the Red Sox and Phillies. His connection to Philadelphia's historic 1980 championship team makes him a recognizable name among collectors seeking autographs from every member of that memorable roster.

The 1982 Fleer #239 is an appealing addition for Philadelphia Phillies collectors, Ramon Aviles fans, 1980 World Series championship collections, Puerto Rican baseball memorabilia enthusiasts or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
