Moises Alou enjoyed an outstanding 17-year Major League career, playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Montreal Expos, Florida Marlins, Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs, and San Francisco Giants. One of the most consistent hitters of his generation, Alou was a six-time All-Star, World Series champion, and Silver Slugger Award winner. He finished his career with 2,134 hits, 332 home runs, 1,287 RBIs, and a .303 batting average.

Alou enjoyed some of the finest seasons of his career with the Montreal Expos, emerging as one of the National League's elite offensive players. In 1994, he batted .339 with 22 home runs, 78 RBIs, and a league-leading .617 slugging percentage during the strike-shortened season, finishing third in the National League MVP voting. He helped lead the Expos to the best record in baseball before the season ended prematurely due to the players' strike.
