Add a signed insert card of 1986 National League Cy Young Award winner Mike Scott with this 1989 Score Scoremasters #4 Houston Astros issue.
This card comes from the exclusive 1989 Score Scoremasters set, a premium boxed release produced as a 42-card mail-order and hobby shop exclusive. Featuring many of baseball's biggest stars in a colorful, high-quality design, the Scoremasters set remains one of the most popular specialty releases of the late 1980s and a favorite among Score collectors.
Mike Scott enjoyed a standout 14-year Major League career with the New York Mets and Houston Astros. Best known for his dominant years in Houston, Scott was the 1986 National League Cy Young Award winner, a three-time All-Star, and one of the most feared pitchers in baseball during the mid-1980s. He finished his career with 124 victories, 1,535 strikeouts, and a 3.54 ERA.
Scott's finest season came in 1986, when he posted an incredible 18-10 record, 2.22 ERA, and 306 strikeouts to capture the National League Cy Young Award. He famously struck out 16 San Francisco Giants in the season's final game to clinch the National League West title for the Astros, one of the greatest pitching performances in franchise history. He also helped lead Houston to the memorable 1986 National League Championship Series against the New York Mets.
Issued just a few years after his Cy Young season, this premium Scoremasters card celebrates Scott during the peak of his outstanding Astros career and remains one of his most attractive late-1980s insert cards.
