Michael Barrett Autographed 2002 Fleer #61 Montreal Expos Card
Add a signed card of future Silver Slugger catcher Michael Barrett with this 2002 Fleer #61 Montreal Expos issue.
This card comes from the 2002 Fleer flagship set, a cleanly designed 540-card release that combined sharp photography with Fleer's classic full-bleed styling. Issued during Fleer's final years as an independent card manufacturer, the set remains popular among collectors for its straightforward design and strong checklist of stars, veterans, and rising young players.
Selected by the Montreal Expos with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 1995 MLB Draft, Michael Barrett went on to enjoy an 11-year Major League career with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, and Toronto Blue Jays. Originally drafted as a shortstop, Barrett successfully transitioned to catcher in the minor leagues and developed into one of the National League's premier offensive backstops. He finished his career with 98 home runs, 424 RBIs, a .263 batting average, and earned the 2005 National League Silver Slugger Award.
The 2002 season marked one of Barrett's finest years with Montreal. He posted a career-high 54 RBIs, hit 16 home runs, and was named National League Co-Player of the Week during a torrid April after driving in a franchise-record 11 runs over a two-game span. This card captures Barrett during one of the best offensive seasons of his Expos career, making it one of his more desirable flagship Fleer issues.
