This card comes from the 2000 Fleer Tradition set, a 450-card release that paid tribute to the classic 1954 Topps design. Featuring gray cardstock, vintage-inspired graphics, and modern photography, Fleer Tradition helped spark the retro-themed baseball card movement that would later inspire products such as Topps Heritage. It remains one of the most beloved Fleer releases of the modern era.

Selected by the Montreal Expos with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 1995 MLB Draft, Michael Barrett went on to enjoy an 11-year Major League career with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, and Toronto Blue Jays. Originally drafted as a shortstop, Barrett successfully transitioned to catcher in the minor leagues and developed into one of the National League's premier offensive backstops. He finished his career with 98 home runs, 424 RBIs, a .263 batting average, and earned the 2005 National League Silver Slugger Award.
