Add a signed card of future Silver Slugger catcher Michael Barrett with this 1999 Upper Deck MVP #128 Montreal Expos issue.
This card comes from the popular 1999 Upper Deck MVP set, a 220-card release that combined Upper Deck's renowned photography with a clean, collector-friendly design. The product quickly became a hobby favorite thanks to its attractive base set and popular parallels, including Silver Script, Gold Script, and Super Script versions. It remains one of the standout mainstream Upper Deck releases of the late 1990s.
Selected by the Montreal Expos with the 28th overall pick in the first round of the 1995 MLB Draft, Michael Barrett went on to enjoy an 11-year Major League career with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs, San Diego Padres, and Toronto Blue Jays. Originally drafted as a shortstop, Barrett successfully transitioned to catcher in the minor leagues and developed into one of the National League's premier offensive backstops. He finished his career with 98 home runs, 424 RBIs, a .263 batting average, and earned the 2005 National League Silver Slugger Award.
Issued during Barrett's first full Major League season, this card captures one of the Expos' brightest young players as he established himself in the big leagues. As one of his principal Upper Deck MVP cards, it remains a favorite among Barrett, Expos, and Upper Deck collectors.
