Melido Perez Autographed 1995 Donruss #397 New York Yankees Card

Featuring Melido Perez with the New York Yankees, this Melido Perez autographed 1995 Donruss #397 New York Yankees card represents the hard-throwing right-hander during his four-season tenure in New York. Perez spent nine seasons in the Major Leagues and was particularly effective as a starter during the early 1990s.

The Dominican-born Perez made his Major League debut with the Kansas City Royals in 1987 before being traded to the Chicago White Sox. He became a regular member of Chicago's rotation and recorded 12 victories with 145 strikeouts in 1988.

Perez joined the New York Yankees for the 1992 season and immediately delivered one of the strongest years of his career. He finished 13-16 despite an excellent 2.87 ERA, striking out 218 batters over 247 innings and completing five games. His 218 strikeouts established a career high.

On July 12, 1990, while pitching for the White Sox, Perez worked six hitless innings against the Yankees before the game was shortened by rain. At the time it was credited as a no-hitter, although Major League Baseball later changed its statistical standards and no longer recognizes shortened games as official no-hitters.

Perez remained with the Yankees through 1995 and finished his nine-season Major League career with the Royals, White Sox and Yankees with 78 victories and 1,092 strikeouts. The 1995 Donruss #397 is an appealing addition for Yankees collectors, Melido Perez fans, Dominican baseball collections, 1990s Donruss collectors or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
