Featuring Lenny Dykstra with the Philadelphia Phillies, this Lenny Dykstra autographed 1997 Upper Deck #453 Philadelphia Phillies card is a late-career issue of the three-time All-Star center fielder. Dykstra spent eight seasons with Philadelphia after beginning his Major League career with the New York Mets.

Dykstra reached the Major Leagues with the Mets in 1985 and quickly established himself as an energetic leadoff hitter and center fielder. In 1986, he helped New York capture the World Series championship, hitting .300 with three home runs during the postseason.

The Mets traded Dykstra to Philadelphia during the 1989 season, and he developed into one of the National League's most productive leadoff hitters. He batted .325 and led the National League with 192 hits in 1990, earning his first All-Star selection and finishing ninth in MVP voting.

Dykstra's signature season came in 1993, when he helped lead the Phillies to the National League pennant. He batted .305 with 194 hits, 44 doubles, 19 home runs, 66 RBI and 37 stolen bases while leading the National League with 143 runs scored, 129 walks and 773 plate appearances. He finished second in National League MVP voting and then hit four home runs with eight RBI during the World Series against Toronto.

A three-time All-Star, Dykstra finished his 12-season Major League career with 1,298 hits, 285 doubles, 81 home runs and 404 stolen bases. The 1997 Upper Deck #453 is a late Phillies issue and an appealing addition for Philadelphia collectors, Lenny Dykstra fans, 1993 National League championship collections, 1990s Upper Deck collectors or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
