Len Barker Autographed 1985 Fleer #318 Atlanta Braves Card

Featuring Len Barker with the Atlanta Braves, this Len Barker autographed 1985 Fleer #318 Atlanta Braves card highlights the hard-throwing right-hander best remembered for throwing one of the relatively few perfect games in Major League history.

Barker began his Major League career with the Texas Rangers in 1976 before joining the Cleveland Indians, where he developed into one of the American League's top strikeout pitchers. He led the American League with 187 strikeouts in 1980 and followed with an AL-best 127 strikeouts during the strike-shortened 1981 season, earning an All-Star selection that year.

His signature achievement came on May 15, 1981, when Barker retired all 27 Toronto Blue Jays he faced at Cleveland Stadium for a 3-0 perfect-game victory. He struck out 11 without allowing a hit, walk or baserunner, completing what was the 10th perfect game in Major League history.

Atlanta acquired Barker from Cleveland during the 1983 season as the Braves strengthened their pitching staff for the stretch run. He remained with Atlanta through 1985, making this Fleer issue a card from his final season with the Braves.

Barker pitched 11 Major League seasons with the Rangers, Indians, Braves and Brewers, finishing with 74 victories and 975 strikeouts. Combining a classic mid-1980s Fleer issue with the career of a pitcher forever connected to baseball history, the 1985 Fleer #318 is an appealing addition for Braves collectors, Len Barker fans, perfect-game collections, 1985 Fleer set collectors or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
