Add a colorful first-year Triple Play issue to a comprehensive Lance Parrish autograph collection with this 1992 Triple Play #169 California Angels card, personally autographed by the eight-time Major League All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner, six-time Silver Slugger winner and starting catcher for the 1984 World Series Champion Detroit Tigers.

The card is correctly cataloged as #169 Lance Parrish of the California Angels and was produced by Donruss as part of the 264-card 1992 Triple Play set.

The 1992 release marked the debut of Triple Play baseball, giving Parrish his first card from the brand. Triple Play was deliberately designed as a more colorful and accessible baseball-card product, particularly aimed at younger collectors. The 264-card set was issued as a single series, with cards distributed in 15-card foil packs as well as jumbo packs.

The set also took a more playful approach than most contemporary releases. In addition to traditional player cards, Triple Play included subsets such as Little Hotshots, which showed players as youngsters, and Awesome Action cards, along with ballparks and other baseball-related subjects.

Parrish actually appears twice in the 1992 Triple Play set, which is something worth noting for a deep autograph run. This #169 is his regular California Angels card, while #234 is a separate Little Hotshots card featuring Parrish as a youngster. That means both are legitimate, distinct Parrish cards to pursue rather than simple variations of the same issue.

The #169 card also represents the closing chapter of Parrish's California Angels career. After joining the Angels in 1989, he enjoyed his finest California season in 1990, earning his eighth career All-Star selection and sixth Silver Slugger Award. Parrish began 1992 with California before moving to the Seattle Mariners later that season.

By the conclusion of his 19-year Major League career, Parrish had established himself as one of the premier power-hitting catchers of his generation, finishing with 324 home runs and 1,070 RBI while earning eight All-Star selections, three Gold Gloves and six Silver Slugger Awards.

It is an excellent addition for collectors of Lance Parrish autographs, California Angels memorabilia, 1992 Triple Play baseball cards, first-year brand issues, or comprehensive signed player collections.
