On August 17, 1992, while pitching for Los Angeles, Gross added a major career highlight by throwing a no-hitter against the San Francisco Giants, winning 2-0 at Dodger Stadium.

Gross pitched 15 Major League seasons and finished with 142 victories and 1,727 strikeouts in more than 2,400 innings.
