Add a great early Upper Deck issue from one of the shortest chapters of Juan Samuels career with this 1990 Upper Deck #583 card featuring Samuel with the New York Mets, personally autographed by the three-time MLB All-Star.

Samuel is card #583 in Upper Decks sophomore baseball release and is correctly featured as a member of the New York Mets. The card is particularly interesting for a comprehensive Samuel collection because, although dated 1990, it captures his brief Mets tenure from the previous season. By the time the 1990 season began, Samuel had already moved on to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Samuel joined New York in June 1989 when the Philadelphia Phillies traded him to the Mets for Lenny Dykstra and Roger McDowell. He appeared in only 86 games for New York, collecting 76 hits, 13 doubles and 31 stolen bases. His speed remained evident despite the short stay, and Mets cards account for only a small portion of his lengthy Major League career.

The card also comes from just the second year of Upper Deck baseball, following the company's landmark 1989 debut. The clean photography and premium production associated with early Upper Deck cards make #583 an attractive surface for Samuel's autograph and a nice complement to his 1989 Upper Deck #336 Phillies card.
