Add a great traded-player issue from Juan Samuels career to your collection with this 1989 Topps Traded #108T card featuring Samuel with the New York Mets, personally autographed by the three-time MLB All-Star.

The 1989 Topps Traded set updated the regular Topps release with rookies, traded players and other players who changed teams during the season. Samuels #108T is particularly interesting because it captures his brief stint with the Mets, a sharp contrast to the many cards from this era that picture him with the Philadelphia Phillies. The #108T card is cataloged as Samuels New York Mets issue in the set.

Samuel was traded from Philadelphia to New York on June 18, 1989, in a significant deal that sent Lenny Dykstra, Roger McDowell and a player to be named later to the Phillies. That player was pitcher Tom Edens, who completed the transaction in July.

Samuel played only 86 games for the Mets, making cards depicting him in a New York uniform an interesting part of his career run. His stay was especially short-lived: on December 20, 1989, the Mets traded him to the Los Angeles Dodgers for Alejandro Pea and Mike Marshall.
