Add a signature from a former Major League relief pitcher and member of the 1988 United States Olympic baseball team with this Jim Poole autographed 1988 Topps Traded #88T Team USA baseball card, available from Under the Radar Sports Promotions.

Jim Poole enjoyed an 11-season Major League career from 1990 through 2000, establishing himself as a dependable left-handed relief pitcher. He appeared in the Major Leagues with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians, San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers, and Montreal Expos.

Before beginning his professional career, Poole was a standout pitcher at Georgia Tech, where he developed into one of the nation's top collegiate baseball players. His success earned him an opportunity to represent the United States on the international stage.

Poole was selected to the 1988 United States Olympic baseball team, which competed at the Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. Team USA captured the gold medal in baseball, which was a demonstration sport at the time, defeating Japan in the championship game.

The American roster included several future Major League players, including Jim Abbott, Robin Ventura, Tino Martinez, and Ben McDonald. Poole's participation in this talented group represented one of the defining accomplishments of his amateur baseball career.

Following the Olympics, Poole continued his professional development and made his Major League debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1990. He eventually established himself as a valuable bullpen contributor, particularly during his years with the Baltimore Orioles and Cleveland Indians.

Poole became part of the successful Cleveland Indians teams of the mid-1990s, pitching alongside a talented roster that included Albert Belle, Jim Thome, Manny Ramirez, Kenny Lofton, and Omar Vizquel.

He contributed to Cleveland's 1995 American League championship season, helping the Indians reach their first World Series since 1954. Poole appeared in the postseason as Cleveland advanced through the American League playoffs before facing the Atlanta Braves in the World Series.

Over his Major League career, Poole appeared in 431 games, primarily as a relief pitcher. His ability to face left-handed hitters and provide experienced bullpen depth allowed him to contribute to several organizations throughout the 1990s.

The 1988 Topps Traded #88T Team USA card features Poole as a member of the United States national baseball team, capturing an important moment before his Major League career began. The 1988 Topps Traded set is recognized for its distinctive design featuring bold player names, colorful team graphics, and the classic appearance associated with late-1980s Topps baseball cards.

Team USA cards from this release are especially appealing because they feature future Major League players representing their country during the 1988 Olympic baseball competition.

Poole passed away in 2023, making his signed baseball cards particularly meaningful to collectors seeking autographs of former Major League players who are no longer available for signings.
