Greg Gross Autographed 1981 Topps #459 Philadelphia Phillies Card

Featuring Ron Reed with the Philadelphia Phillies, this Ron Reed autographed 1981 Topps #376 Philadelphia Phillies card showcases the veteran right-handed pitcher immediately following Philadelphia's historic 1980 World Series championship season. Reed began his Major League career with the Atlanta Braves in 1966, initially establishing himself as a starting pitcher. His finest season as a starter came in 1969, when he finished 18-10 with a 3.47 ERA and earned his only National League All-Star selection while helping Atlanta capture the National League West championship. After spending the 1975 season with the St. Louis Cardinals, Reed joined the Philadelphia Phillies in 1976 and successfully transitioned into a relief role. He quickly became one of the club's most dependable bullpen arms, helping Philadelphia capture three consecutive National League East championships from 1976 through 1978. Reed played an important role in the Phillies' 1980 World Series championship season, appearing in 55 regular-season games and recording nine saves. He also contributed during Philadelphia's postseason run, helping the Phillies defeat the Houston Astros in the NLCS and the Kansas City Royals in the World Series to secure the franchise's first championship. His ability to work multiple innings made him particularly valuable during an era when relief pitchers were frequently called upon for extended appearances. Reed remained with Philadelphia through the 1983 season, helping the Phillies capture another National League pennant before finishing his career with the Chicago White Sox. Over 19 Major League seasons, Reed compiled a 146-140 record with 103 saves and 1,481 strikeouts in 751 appearances. The 1981 Topps #376 is an appealing addition for Philadelphia Phillies collectors, Ron Reed fans, 1980 World Series championship collections, vintage Topps enthusiasts or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
