Add an outstanding vintage issue of baseball great Felipe Alou with this 1966 Topps #96 card featuring him with the Atlanta Braves, personally autographed by the three-time Major League All-Star and longtime manager.

The 1966 Topps #96 is particularly significant because it was issued for the Braves' first season in Atlanta after the franchise relocated from Milwaukee. Although the card was produced before the 1966 season unfolded, it represents Alou at the beginning of what became arguably the finest individual season of his playing career.

Alou was spectacular for the 1966 Atlanta Braves, batting .327 with 218 hits, 122 runs scored, 32 doubles, six triples, 31 home runs and 74 RBI in 154 games. His .533 slugging percentage helped produce an .894 OPS and 142 OPS+.

His 218 hits and 122 runs both led the National League, while his .327 batting average ranked second. Alou was selected to the National League All-Star team and finished an impressive fifth in NL Most Valuable Player voting.

Alou's significance extends far beyond one great season. Over a 17-year Major League playing career, he accumulated 2,101 hits, 206 home runs and 852 RBI while batting .286, earning three All-Star selections.

Following his playing career, Alou became a pioneering and highly successful manager. In 1992, he became the first Dominican-born manager in Major League history when he took over the Montreal Expos. He later managed the San Francisco Giants and finished his managerial career with 1,033 victories, earning the 1994 National League Manager of the Year Award.

That combination of playing accomplishments, managerial success and historical significance makes this vintage 1966 Topps issue an especially appealing autographed card.
