Del Unser Autographed 1981 Fleer #26 Philadelphia Phillies Card

Featuring Del Unser with the Philadelphia Phillies, this Del Unser autographed 1981 Fleer #26 Philadelphia Phillies card showcases the veteran outfielder and pinch-hitting specialist immediately following Philadelphia's historic 1980 World Series championship season.

The 1981 Fleer baseball set marked the company's return to the major baseball card market, making it an important release in the history of modern baseball cards. Unser's #26 card features a valuable member of the Phillies' championship roster during the latter stages of his Major League career.

Unser made his Major League debut with the Washington Senators in 1968 and established himself as a dependable outfielder before playing for the Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets and Montreal Expos. He first joined Philadelphia in 1973 and returned to the Phillies for the 1979 season after two years in Montreal.

During the 1979 season, Unser established a Major League record by hitting pinch-hit home runs in three consecutive at-bats. His ability to deliver in important situations made him one of Philadelphia's most trusted left-handed hitters off the bench.

Unser played an especially memorable role in the 1980 World Series against the Kansas City Royals. In Game 2, he delivered a pinch-hit RBI double during Philadelphia's eighth-inning comeback. He followed with another crucial pinch-hit double in Game 5, helping the Phillies rally for a victory that gave them a 3-2 series lead.

Philadelphia went on to defeat Kansas City in six games, capturing the first World Series championship in franchise history. Unser remained with the Phillies through the 1982 season, concluding a 15-season Major League career in which he collected more than 1,300 hits.

The 1981 Fleer #26 is an appealing addition for Philadelphia Phillies collectors, Del Unser fans, 1980 World Series championship collections, early Fleer set collectors or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
