Featuring Dave Martinez during his final season with Montreal, this Dave Martinez autographed 1991 Fleer #237 Montreal Expos card captures the versatile outfielder near the conclusion of his productive tenure with the Expos. The card comes from the unmistakable 1991 Fleer release, a set best remembered for its bold yellow-bordered design.

Martinez joined the Montreal Expos in July 1988 after beginning his Major League career with the Chicago Cubs. He quickly became a regular in Montreals outfield, combining contact hitting and speed with the versatility to play all three outfield positions.

One of Martinezs strongest seasons came in 1990, when he batted .279 with career highs of 147 hits and 60 RBI while adding 23 doubles, 11 home runs and 17 stolen bases. He returned as a regular in 1991, appearing in 133 games and collecting 119 hits during his final season with the Expos.

Martinez moved on to the Cincinnati Reds for 1992 and continued a playing career that ultimately spanned 16 Major League seasons. He finished with 1,599 hits, 91 home runs, 580 RBI, 183 stolen bases and a .276 batting average while playing for nine franchises.

His baseball career continued for years after his retirement as a player. Martinez served as bench coach for the 2016 World Series champion Chicago Cubs before becoming manager of the Washington Nationals and guiding the club to its first World Series championship in 2019. Combining Fleers distinctive 1991 design with Martinezs Montreal tenure, the 1991 Fleer #237 is an appealing addition for Expos collectors, Dave Martinez fans, Fleer set collectors or collectors assembling comprehensive autographed player runs.
