Dave Clark Autographed 1991 Fleer #417 Chicago Cubs Card

Add a signed card of longtime Major League outfielder Dave Clark with this 1991 Fleer #417 Chicago Cubs card, personally autographed by the former Cubs, Indians, Royals, Pirates, Dodgers and Astros outfielder.

The 1991 Fleer #417 represents Clark's brief but productive stint with the Chicago Cubs. He spent the entire 1990 season with Chicago, appearing in 84 games and batting .275 with 47 hits, four doubles, two triples, five home runs and 20 RBI in 171 at-bats. He also stole seven bases while providing the Cubs with a left-handed bat and outfield depth.

Clark saw most of his defensive action in left field, appearing there in 39 games during the 1990 season. He was part of a Cubs roster featuring Ryne Sandberg, Andre Dawson, Mark Grace, Shawon Dunston and Greg Maddux, giving this card a nice connection to an interesting era of Cubs baseball.

This is also an interesting transitional issue. Although the 1991 Fleer card depicts Clark with Chicago, he moved to the Kansas City Royals organization for 1991. He appeared briefly with Kansas City at the Major League level while spending most of the season with Triple-A Omaha, where he batted .301 with 24 doubles, 13 home runs and 64 RBI.

Clark's career eventually found another gear with the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1993 he batted .271 with 11 home runs and 46 RBI, then followed with a .296 average, 10 homers and 46 RBI in 1994. His productive Pittsburgh seasons helped extend a Major League career that lasted through 1998.

After his playing days, Clark remained in professional baseball as a coach and manager, adding another dimension to a career that stretched well beyond his time as a player.
