A left-handed hitter known for his ability to make contact, reach base consistently, and play dependable defense in the outfield, Hamilton developed into a valuable contributor throughout his Major League career.

Hamilton began his professional career after being selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 11th round of the 1986 Major League Baseball Draft out of Nicholls State University. He made his Major League debut with Milwaukee in 1988 and gradually established himself as an important member of the Brewers' outfield.

During the early 1990s, Hamilton became one of Milwaukee's most consistent hitters. His combination of speed, defensive ability, and offensive production made him a valuable presence in the Brewers lineup alongside established players such as Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, and B.J. Surhoff.

One of Hamilton's finest seasons came in 1992, when he batted .298 with 41 stolen bases, helping the Brewers compile an impressive 92-70 record and finish second in the American League East. His performance reflected the balanced offensive and defensive skills that made him a dependable everyday player.

Following his years in Milwaukee, Hamilton continued his career with several National League teams. He eventually joined the New York Mets, becoming part of the club's 1999 postseason team and its 2000 National League championship roster.

Hamilton appeared in the 2000 World Series against the New York Yankees, contributing to a Mets team that captured the National League pennant and reached the franchise's first World Series since 1986.

Over his Major League career, Hamilton collected 1,333 hits and 163 stolen bases, establishing himself as a respected outfielder whose contributions were valued by several organizations.
